Surreal CMS is a remotely hosted content management system (CMS) that was designed with simplicity in mind.
Surreal CMS is a very simple GUI CMS designed for novices afraid to code. It runs on another server and can be used to edit websites hosted remotely.

The free license allows 3 websites while the $25/month designer license allows unlimited no. of websites.
You can edit any part of the webpage using Surreal CMS just by adding “class=editable” in the span, div or heading tags.

Piwik : Open Source Web Analytics

Piwik is a downloadable, open source (GPL licensed) web analytics software program. It provides you with detailed reports on your website visitors: the search engines and keywords they used, the language they speak, your popular pages… and so much more.
Piwik is a very good alternative to other website tracking and counter programs as it is self hosted and maintained. As well as the table and data is also collected in one’s own database.

Piwik requires PHP 5.0 and MySQL to function. The tables and graphs are created as Flash (.swf) files.

Opentape : Mixtape Maker

Opentape is a free, open-source package that lets you make and host your own mixtapes on the web.
Using Opentape you can create a full playlist by uploading all the songs you want to you server.

It creates a list of all the songs uploaded and then plays them using an embeddable flash player when clicked.
It does not require any database and runs on PHP. Customization options are limited to the color scheme of the playlist.

Anunay’s Chat

I am introducing a new feature in my website called ‘Anunay’s Chat‘ where the visitors can chat with me whenever I am available online. This feature is a crude AJAX and JQuery based chat interface. It saves the chat logs as a (X)HTML file that can be deleted. It runs on PHP and does not require MySQL to function.

The styling of the chat interface is done by CSS. The files needed for the system are very compact and it fits into about 7 KB. The source is attached at the bottom of the article. (I love Open Source.)

CMS : Gelato

Gelato is self hosted CMS for those who want both flexibility and design in their work. It is a specially designed CMS for tumblelogs.
