DailyPerfect Examines Your Facebook Account To Find The Most Relevant News

Want to get the most relevant news to you based on your network and not based on what some editor thought would be most interesting to you? DailyPerfect is a new site which crawls through your feed and picks out the most relevant news categories that it thinks you’d like to follow. It’s a pretty interesting model and so far it has been relatively effective at picking out the most relevant articles for me. The top articles for me have been related to Facebook and blogging which is pretty spot on.

One Year Later, Facebook Connect Goes Live On Digg

At last year’s annual f8 event, Digg came on stage to announce that they would be officially supporting Facebook Connect. Almost one year later, support has finally gone live. We’ve take a look and it’s a pretty basic integration. Essentially you can login using your Facebook account and whenever you Digg an article, you are prompted with the option of publishing that Digg to your feed. I haven’t yet figured out if new Diggs will be published twice if you had previously imported your Digg account.

What Is Facebook Opening Up To Developers On Monday?

We’ve been saying that Facebook is expected to open up access to the feed for a while now and it appears that tomorrow is the day. Last week we were invited to a Monday afternoon developer cocktail hour at Facebook during which the announcement is expected to take place. This evening Jessica Vascellaro wrote about the expected announcement stating core parts would be opened, “namely the information that appears in the stream of updates on users’ homepages and profiles.”

Google’s Answer to Facebook: Profile Search

This afternoon Google posted about a new feature which enables users to search for “me” to find their own Google profiles. Google recently upgraded their profile features but the company is now investing heavily in making profiles a more integrated part of search. Want to find somebody on the web? If they’ve set up their Google profile properly, they will show up in a box that displays profile results (as pictured below).
