Facebook Posts Update About Advertising Policy (Updated)

This afternoon Facebook posted an update to their blog regarding the viral note circulating around the web about third-party ad networks. According to their post, the company is concerned about the user experience and so far they have shut down two ad networks (as we have previously written) and have forced some ad networks to remove the deceptive ads previously in question. “Accidental Billionaires”: A Politely Scandalous Novel

Over the past two days I read through Ben Mezrich’s new book the “Accidental Billionaires”, and while hardly anything new is revealed, it provides as much entertainment as one would expect from flipping through the pages of Maxim magazine. Actually that’s not so true as there is more male eroticism than scantily clad women but you can’t blame the author for at least trying. If you were looking for the type of excitement evoked by watching the movie “Hackers”, you will be sorely disappointed, especially since there isn’t a sweet soundtrack to accompany the book … you’ll have to wait…

Facebook Shuts Down SocialReach For Violating Platform Terms

Last night Facebook took aggressive action to stop the increased level of application Facebooks ads that are in violation of Facebook’s terms by shutting down SocialReach. As I’ve been covering for the past few days, the volume of spam ads on Facebook have been increasing over the past few weeks. Some developers have even been reporting substantial jumps in revenue from these ad networks which is understandable considering how aggressive the ads are.
