Natural Herbal Colon Cleanse
Our colon stores food particles that are not digested in the stomach and in the small intestines. This organ also absorbs water, salt and other nutrients from these food remains. The remains after the needed materials are absorbed become our stool or fecal wastes. Though a person can always flush this out through regular bowel movement, there are fecal wastes that are accumulated in the colon wall that cannot be easily removed.
A healthy diet composed of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and other foods that are rich in vitamins, minerals and fiber is one of the…

Beer brewer’s temperature controller
Steady fermentation temperatures, usually at about 65 degrees Fahrenheit, are an important part of brewing beer. Because of this, the wort (unfermented beer) is often temperature controlled during fermentation. [android] needed a temperature controller for fermenting beer in a chest freezer. Much like the energy efficient fridge hack from last month, the chest freezer is switched on and off to achieve the desired temperature. Instead of buying a controller, [android] built around an existing design. His project uses a solid state relay to switch an outlet on and off.
The temperature is controlled by a home thermostat. He removed…
BrewTroller brewing control system
BrewTroller is an open source brewing control system based on the Sanguino. Targeting home beer brewers, this project gathers some of the best features from other DIY brewing controllers and packages them into a hardware and software setup so it’s accessible to those without the skills to design their own. It can interface with 4 heat controllers, 32 pumps/valves, 6 temperature sensors, 3 volume sensors, and 1 steam pressure sensor. The system displays information through a 4 line LCD. It can be used to monitor and maintain temperature during mashing, boiling, and chilling. If you have a more advanced…
Kegbot
The folks at Revision3 really know what gets our pulse going. In this episode, they show us how they built a radio controlled keg. Not only is the system built sturdy enough to cart around the keg, it is also built with the capability for the driver to control the beer flow. This isn’t too shabby for a pretty quick project, but it still can’t compare with Bar2D2.
Facebook Friend Recommendations From The Grave
Every time you visit the Facebook homepage you receive recommendations about potential individuals that you should friend but what happens when the person being recommended is dead? That’s exactly what has been happening to one of my family members for the past week and when I asked her about it, the response was understandable, “It’s a little bit creepy!” She then asked me what to do to remove it.
The way that Facebook’s system works is that when they learn that somebody has passed away, they switch the profile to memorial status. Facebook needs to be notified about the person…
Various Cantenna builds
Here is a classic project used to increase wireless signal strength. Cantennas focus using a waveguide very much like a magnifying glass focuses light. [Robert] made a Natural Light beer cantenna, pictured in the upper left. His approach used three beer cans, a paper towel holder, and a shower curtain rod. On the tipline, he noted a signal boost from 11Mbps to 54Mbps. This is certainly something we can hack together if our room lacks adequate signal. Read about parabolic and seeking versions after the break.
The lower right image is an example of a parabolic soup cantenna constructed…
Hundreds Die In Urumqi. Does The World Care?
According to the latest news reports from Urumqi, a far-flung city in western China, “calm” had returned to the streets as the death toll from Sunday’s protests hit 156, with 800 injured, and 1,434 protestors detained. Officials say most of the dead were Han Chinese, while Uyghur groups report that 90% of those killed were Uyghurs. Though reports about the ethnic background of those killed and accounts of the protest may vary, one thing is clear. The Chinese government has cracked down, enforced curfews, and rounded up protestors in an effort to stop future unrest. Meanwhile, wall posts from Uyghurs,…
Facebook Comments On Generic Page Feeds Being Disabled

We found out a few interesting things. First of all, generic Facebook Pages are still permitted on Facebook but spamming through the feed is not. So how does Facebook determine what is legitimate and what isn’t?
Prior to giving a more in depth analysis, here’s what Facebook told us about the latest wave of Facebook Pages that had their stream disabled:
An important part of the Facebook experience is being able…
