Or is it the fact that it’s probably one of the larger monitors in your apartment or house? Maybe it’s not connected to a computer, and that’s what makes it a television (although they’ll all soon be computers). Changes to GlobalConfig.net

I want to take a minute to address the over 450 subscribers here at GlobalConfig.net.  Over a year ago when I started blogging I was primarily about my CCIE Studies.  Now that I have passed the CCIE Security I am on to the R&S and Voice, kinda at the same time.  With that, work, and family it’s been difficult to bring you fresh, useful content.  That’s all about to change.
Here are the changes to the blog that I believe will make it a better resource for you:

The Domain Changed to http://www.ascoltablogs.com.  The old URL will still work- but…

Does It Really Matter How Many Fans You Have?

Last week we finished up the 30 Days to 3,000 Fans program and while some people may or may not have reached the 3,000 fan target, the real question is: does the number of fans really matter? Last night I was watching a video of Seth Godin where he says “it’s worthless to have lots and lots of friends on Facebook.” With so many people selling the importance of having fans, followers, and friends though, how could Seth Godin, a thought leader in marketing, make such an assertion?

It’s Relationship Marketing
Seth has a valid point. If you don’t build…

AT&T looks to flip net rules debate on Google

WASHINGTON/NEW YORK (Reuters) – AT&T Inc said any new “net neutrality” rules imposed by U.S. regulators need to apply to Web companies like Google Inc as much as to phone companies to ensure a level playing field. In a letter Friday to the head of the U.S. Federal Communications Commission’s Wireline Competition Bureau, the biggest U.S. telephone company argued that Google would have an unfair advantage if its Voice service is not subject to the same rules proposed by the FCC on phone operators.”To the extent ‘net neutrality’ is animated by a concern about ostensible Internet ‘gatekeepers,’ that concern must necessarily…

It appears that Social Hour, one of the few ad networks to be completely banned from the Facebook platform, has now relaunched under a new name: Dizzy Networks. According to one source, Social Hour had been looking for a new face for the company and according to the company’s website, they hired Jeremy Olsson, who was previously the Director of Performance Marketing for RockYou.
