If you are thinking of getting a new vehicle because your old one doesn’t look so great, you should really reconsider! With our economy only getting worse and worse you may not want to add more monthly expenses to your tab. Especially when you could get auto reconditioning for your vehicle and get it looking like new in no time! These services have been overlooked in the past as people simply trade in or sell their vehicle to get new ones. However, those people don’t realize what auto reconditioning is, how it works, how much it costs, where to get…
What is Automotive Reconditioning and How Does it Work?

Xbox speeds up research results
Academics at the University of Warwick believe they are the first to use the processors as a cheap way to conduct “parallel processing”. Parallel computing is where a number of processors are run in tandem, allowing a system to rapidly crunch data. Researchers traditionally have to book time on a dedicated “cluster” system or splash out setting up a network of PCs. Instead, the Warwick team harnessed a single Xbox 360 Graphical Processing Unit (GPU). The chip was able to perform parallel processing functions at a fraction of the cost a traditional systems. Dr Simon Scarle, a researcher on the…
Man Offers To Name Son “Batman” For 500,000 Facebook Fans
One of the fastest growing Facebook Pages over the past couple weeks was a page developed by KZ Entertainment to entice users to fan the page in order to get the admin to name his son “Batman”. It’s not a completely original tactic as it has been used with varying degrees of success in the past, especially within Facebook groups. The real question though is whether or not this individual should be able to create a Facebook Page which is aimed at promoting a media company rather than accomplishing a legitimate goal.
Currently, Facebook arbitrarily disables publishing features of generic…
Controlling an R/C car with a pic16F84
[GuySoft] sent in this project. He doesn’t normally mess with electronics, but decided to give it a try. He chose a fairly complicated project to be his first, but seems extremely comfortable with it. This project was to control his R/C car with a pic16f84. That chip was chosen simply because it was the only one available at local stores. Though we’ve seen much more complicated projects in the past, he does a great job of showing exactly what has been done. He shares his thoughts and source code with us as well. He has express a little frustration…
SAP exec: Business ByDesign will be smash success
A top SAP executive said Wednesday that the vendor’s Business ByDesign on-demand ERP (enterprise resource planning) suite for SMBs will take “the world by storm” one day, but declined to reveal when a long-anticipated broader release will occur. SAP initially announced the suite in late 2007, and predicted it would generate US$1 billion in revenue by 2010. But it subsequently limited the rollout to a handful of markets while working to make sure the SaaS (software as a service) application will be profitable enough at scale. In remarks at the Citigroup Global Technology Conference in New York Wednesday, SAP executive…
Death Insurance is Life Insurance
Death insurance is more commonly referred to as life insurance. It is insurance that provides a cash benefit to survivors upon the death of the insured person. Choosing life insurance can be confusing, as there are many different types and features available. Death insurance can be used for whatever purposes the beneficiary sees fit. In the past, life insurance was called “death insurance” because its primary function was thought to be simply to pay for funeral expenses. Now, however, life insurance has become important in helping the surviving family members maintain their regular lifestyle and place of residence. This is…
Hard drive RGB clock
We’ve brought you an HDD clock in the past, but [mb1988] tried to bring his project to another level by fully documenting it (in Polish). Inspired by [dzgdzzh]’s version of the same invention, [mb1988] decided to reverse engineer it (as well as make a few changes) and base it on the powerful ATmega128. Since this clock, along with most HDD clocks, can only display solid lines of radii, it cannot be used to display text. However, color schemes and animations can be toggled using a remote control. The housing itself is also pretty impressive. The back part of the enclosure was molded out of Rayobond,…
C64 emulator for iPhone approved — minus BASIC
After a lengthy process that had previously met with rejection, Manomio’s Commodore 64 emulator for the iPhone and iPod touch has finally been accepted by Apple. This marks the first time a multi-purpose emulation title has been approved by the App Store. The $4.99 C64 app comes bundled with five fully-licensed classic games, and additional titles can be purchased and downloaded directly within the application.
App Store policies prohibit software that could run downloadable code, which barred most emulation attempts in the past. A couple of Sega titles worked around this by nature of being single-purpose emulators. The condition by which the…
The Happillow project
[Harandi] wrote to us to let us know about a project he’s working on to improve our nightly rest. This is the Happillow. The Happillow is an alarm clock, as well as a snore relief system. We’re not sure that the snoring bothers us so much, but we’re sure our significant others appreciate that part. While pillows exist that are supposed to cut down on snoring, they generally have a specific shape to position your head properly, which should cut down on the snores. [Harandi] points out that this might be embarrassing to the user as it is obvious…
Solid state tesla coil
While researching solid state Tesla coils we stumbled across this old project. As you have probably guessed from the pictures, this coil is meant to actually play music. Knowing how to add eye catching flare, the coiler uses a Plexiglas frame turned light pipe; only to be complimented by an audio amplifier complete with graphic equalizer. There is a video of the coil in action on YouTube. We have covered singing tesla coils in the past. Other twists on the classics include the tesla coil guitar amp and a hand held plasm gun.
