DailyPerfect Examines Your Facebook Account To Find The Most Relevant News

Want to get the most relevant news to you based on your network and not based on what some editor thought would be most interesting to you? DailyPerfect is a new site which crawls through your feed and picks out the most relevant news categories that it thinks you’d like to follow. It’s a pretty interesting model and so far it has been relatively effective at picking out the most relevant articles for me. The top articles for me have been related to Facebook and blogging which is pretty spot on.

Facebook Releases Swine Flu Maps, Doesn’t Explain Much

Yesterday evening Facebook released a set of swine flu charts and maps that tracks the conversations surrounding swine flu. While it’s an interesting map it doesn’t really explain much. While there were some initial correlations between the level of conversation and the location of swine flu occurrences, comparing the lexicon maps to Google’s H1N1 Swine Flu map illustrates very little correlation between the two.

It also highlights some of the weaknesses in the Lexicon product. Facebook previewed the new Lexicon last September but since then nothing has been rolled out. So what are you supposed to do with the Lexicon?…
