It’s time again for our weekly recap of the latest Facebook news stories! While Facebook didn’t acquire any companies, or surpass any significant milestones this week, there was still plenty of news for the fast growing social platform. SocialHour Relaunches As Dizzy Networks (Updated)

It appears that Social Hour, one of the few ad networks to be completely banned from the Facebook platform, has now relaunched under a new name: Dizzy Networks. According to one source, Social Hour had been looking for a new face for the company and according to the company’s website, they hired Jeremy Olsson, who was previously the Director of Performance Marketing for RockYou. While the company is still focused on trying to convert IQ quizzes, it doesn’t appear as though Dizzy Networks is running as aggressive of advertisements this time around.

Facebook Launching Credit Card Payments When Majority Of Users Don’t Have Credit Cards (Updated)

We’ve been saying for a while that Facebook’s payment platform is a huge opportunity for the company to start making serious cash but there’s one issue with that logic: the majority of users don’t have credit cards. While nobody knows the exact number of Facebook users with credit cards, the most recent estimates are that only around 30 percent of Facebook users 25 percent of internet users have access to a card. The other 75 percent either have a mobile phone, that they can pay with via Boku or Zong, or are out of luck when it comes to making…

SocialReach Makes A Comeback Is Still Down One Day After Being Shut Down

We’ve now received multiple reports that SocialReach advertisements are now being displayed across Facebook applications once again. This is just one day after they were shut down for violating the terms of service. As “The Harmony Guy” posts in our comments, “The ads are a bit modified to placate some of Facebook’s concerns, but on the backend, SocialReach ads are still requesting detailed user information with the session information of the application hosting the ads.”

Facebook Shuts Down SocialReach For Violating Platform Terms

Last night Facebook took aggressive action to stop the increased level of application Facebooks ads that are in violation of Facebook’s terms by shutting down SocialReach. As I’ve been covering for the past few days, the volume of spam ads on Facebook have been increasing over the past few weeks. Some developers have even been reporting substantial jumps in revenue from these ad networks which is understandable considering how aggressive the ads are. Around midnight last night the company sent out the following letter to all publishers:
