E-bike across Canada for $10

[Justin Lemire-Elmore] spent one month riding his electric bike across Canada last summer. He made the journey from Vancouver to Halifax in 30 days using a mere $10 worth of electricity to recharge his bike. He put together a rather bizarre looking semi-recumbent bicycle to hold all of his gear. The motor controller, charge controller, battery packs, and lighting system were all his own design. He has a captivating 2 hour presentation embedded below in which he describes all the problems he had with his equipment during the trip as well as all the great experiences the journey offered.

$15 HDR camera

[Steve] was planning a 15 mile hiking trip when he came up with this idea. He wanted to get some good HDR photography, but didnt’ want to lug around his 5D MKII. He managed to pick up a couple of cheap Polaroid X530s. These have decent optics and record in RAW format, which is pretty impressive for something he got for 99cents plus shipping. Facebook Officially Expands Album Limits From 60 To 200

Trying to upload more than 60 photos from that recent trip you went on? Up until recently it wasn’t possible. While some users were reporting back in January that the limit had been raised up to 175 photos, Facebook had no official announcement then. Face.com Scans 13 Million Facebook Photos Every Day

There’s well over 10 billion photos on Facebook, making it the largest photo-sharing site on the web. Now that’s a lot of people tagging each other.
