Twitter as a botnet command center

The folks over at Arbor Networks were browsing Twitter and discovered something very strange: a Twitter account seemingly posting gibberish. At least, that’s how it appeared at first. Upon closer investigation, they discovered that the profile was posting base64 encoded links to PKZIP archives. When they extracted the contents and unpacked the contained DLL and EXE files, they discovered that the account was posing links to malware that would post user information back to certain URLs. Posterous Now Syncs Posts With Facebook Pages

Later this evening Posterous will announce the ability to automatically post feed stories to your Facebook Page every time you create a new post. So far the only tool that has been available is the Facebook Notes application which imports your blog feed. While you’ll need a Posterous account to sync with your Page, the site provides individuals and businesses with a great platform for posting content.

Sweetcron : Open Source Lifestream

Sweetcron is an open source lifestreaming blog software created by Jon “Yongfook” Cockle based on the CodeIgniter framework. It is similar to other web applications such as Tumblr and Friendfeed, but users are able to host their own lifestream on their own server and customize it in any way they want.
