Facebook Tells Digg To Fix Their Connect Implementation
Digg is one of the most significant implementations of Facebook Connect to date but not everything is rosy as Digg has violated Facebook’s terms in the process of rolling out their service. One month ago a developer in the Facebook developer forum began complaining that Digg was actively storing user information. One month later Matt Trainer who handles developer relations at Facebook posted that they’ve “followed up with Digg to make sure that no profile information is stored against Facebook policy.”

Bredolab Massively Infects Machines Through PDF And SWF Files
ESET have issued a press release concerning Win32/TrojanDownloader.Bredolab.AA, which made the top ten threat listing in June ThreatSense.Net® report.
The Bredolab trojan is the top-scoring threat in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, but also scoring high in other European countries. It appears in the Top 5 list of threats in Austria, Poland, Turkey; in the Top 10 in Bulgaria, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Belgium, Russia and Germany; in the Top 20 in the Ukraine and Italy, and in the Top 40 in France. In Ireland it has climbed from 40th place into the Top 15.

Last month, in preparation for Defcon 17, the qualifiers were held for capture the flag, one of Defcon’s most well known events. One participant, [mongii], did a writeup on how to solve problem B300. The challenge was to find the decryption key used by a program that had several twists that hindered debugging. After grappling with self-modifying code and junk instructions, the team was finally able to find the answer. This win helped Sapheads place in the top 10. Over at xchng.info, they are collecting solutions to the other problems. Sadly, they’re not all in comic form.
